Finding Balance in an Unbalanced World

Balance is something we all strive for in our daily life. We try to balance work and home life, yet we may feel balanced in one versus the other but never in both. In a society that tells us to constantly stay on the go, we fight the urge to rest and be still when rest is what our mind and body are asking for.

Yoga reminds us that balance begins from within. When we feel unbalanced in a pose and fall out, that moment teaches us something important. Balance is the ability to adjust, breathe and find your center even when you feel uncertain.

Balance looks different for everyone. Balance for you may mean starting to say yes to what nourishes you and no to what or who drains you. Taking the time to take a walk, spending time with people who nourish your spirit or pausing for a few deep breaths before your next to-do list item or taking the time to get on your mat to keep your mind, body and spirit in balance. If you are not balanced from within, it’s hard to find the balance in everyday life that we all seek.

At Solace Yoga, we believe balance is a lifelong practice and not just a balancing pose. Every class is an opportunity to reconnect with your body and mind and create space for what matters most. You don’t have to figure it all out. You simply have to begin where you are.

Remember this; balance isn’t about perfection. It’s about presence. Every breath is a chance to restart, to center and find balance from within.

Love and Light,

Sharon
